For my last project i used the theme trust. My inspiration was my friends. I can trust them to keep my secrets and not to judge me, and i love them for that.

For my ecology piece,  i asked people on campus, anonymously, to write something personal about their childhood that made them who they are today on a leaf of their choice, and let me photograph them. Everyone i asked let me. In a studio setting i would show the leaves and the photographs above.

Fantasy

My fantasy is to be princess Leia. But since queen Amidala has way weirder outfits, so I created my own Amidala inspired dress.

Lorna Simpson + brainstorm

Bio, 1992, 18 Polaroid prints, 9 engraved plastic plaques.
98 x 162 inches overall.

Lorna Simpson is a photographer from Brooklyn, NY who's work shows the struggle of racism.  Instead of exalting her black culture, she focuses on dehumanizing aspects experiences and suppression.
In her work she extracts her model's personality and individuality and appear flawless. She is consistent with her angles and focal lengths and that "cinematic constraint further activates viewers."

When I hear fantasy, I immediately think of Star Wars, only because it's the most amazing series of all time. So I'm thinking of a wearable artwork inspired by one of the many outfits worn by Padme Amidala.

Rush Limbaugh

Yesterday's critique went well. I made a photo about the power of money. My favorite was Lynn's about Limbaugh and his hurtful words; very inspiring.

Time project

Project didn't go as well as I planned. Hopefully it will be finished correctly and ready to go by next Monday.
Favorite project today was a photo that represented forgotten moments in time. It made me think of my own memories and forgotten moments.

William Kentridge

William Kentridge creates prints, drawings, video sculpture, operas, plays, and puppet shows. This south African artist is mostly known for his motion drawings with a smudge-and-smear quality. It seems that his inspiration is emotional distress.

Matthew Ritchie: Proposition Player on view at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston through March 14, 2004, an installation planned especially for the spaces of the Museums large Brown Foundation Gallery
Learned about Matthew Ritchie last week. At first he seemed a little pretentious but I really appreciate his artistic "philosophy" and interactive works.
Really feelin my mapping project. I worked hard and I'm ready for people to hear it. I did a song that people would know but I tried to make it my own. Hope all goes well tomorrow! =]
